No one could touch me
I sealed the door long ago
To never loose my control
Meant to never hurt again
The years passed me by
And I was blissfully petrified
You closed the distance
Would not let me leave your side
Causing my rules & emotions to collide
Threw shards of ice & showed you the door
You stood your ground, responded with nothing I've ever felt before
My feelings became a person I didn't recognize
The more gentle you were
The more impossible it became to endure
You stripped me of my defenses
Then dared me to go back
To the person I was, only knowing how to attack
When no one could touch me
Drenched, standing in my melted ice
Panic set in with no shield to hold onto
You told me to just feel that you'd see me through
You closed all exits except to trust & faith
Told me you'd protect me you'd be all I'd need
I trembled with fear that you'd leave me to bleed
No one can protect me from you
God help me if you're not sincere
It'd be so hard rebuilding defenses lying here
You picked me up
And from your warmth I grew strong
This energy between us was then able to bond
Thought it was you I had tried to reject
You showed me it was me shrouded in my own neglect
